This guide explains how to enable the Idle Video feature on your SignMetrix-powered display and configure the activation duration.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Login to Your SignMetrix Account
Go to https://panel.signmetrix.com/
Enter your credentials to access the SignMetrix Dashboard.
2. Navigate to the Devices Menu
On the left-hand sidebar, click “Devices” to open the list of all connected displays.
3. Select the Device
Find the device you wish to configure and click the gear icon (⚙️) to open the settings.
4. Go to the ‘Idle Video Activation Duration’ Section
Find the section labeled “Idle Video Activation Duration.”
5. Set the Activation Duration
Set the Activation Duration value, which defines how long the screen must remain idle before the idle video starts playing.
ℹ️ Tooltip Explanation:
"The time that needed to be passed in idle screen before starting the idle video.
Enter 0 to disable.
Enter -1 to play without waiting."

6. Save Your Changes
Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page and then click “Update” to apply your settings to the device.
🔁 Idle Video Content Levels
You can define Idle Video content at three different levels:
1. Fleet Level
To use the same idle video across all devices, upload your content from the Default Assets section:

Click your name in the top-right corner

Go to “Default Assets”

Upload your content
All devices in your fleet will play this idle video when enabled.
2. Store Level
To assign idle video per store:

Click the “Stores” menu

Select the store
-
Click “Actions” > “Manage Default Assets”

Upload the asset and click OK
All devices assigned to that store will use the uploaded idle video.
3. Stand Level
To assign idle video per stand:

Click the “Stands” menu

Select the stand
-
Click “Actions” > “Manage Default Assets”

Upload the asset and click OK
All devices assigned to that stand will use the uploaded idle video.

Your display is now set up to automatically play an idle video after your defined period of inactivity.
