There are handful of ways to enable SignMetrix Extension on your BrightSign Media Players:

  1. Using SD Card

  2. Using The Remote Diagnostic Web Server (RDWS)

  3. SignMetrix Panel, Push Extension Page

1. SD Card

Copy the Extension to the SD card

The SignMetrix OS extension needs to be copied to the player’s SD card, and the player needs to be rebooted. After the player reboots, the extension will appear in the info tab of the BrightSign player’s device webpage. It is that simple.

How do you put the OS extension onto the SD card?

Three options:

  1. Remove the SD card from the player and copy the extension to the card. Return the SD card to the player and reboot.
  2. Use the BrightSign device webpage and upload the extension using the SD tab, and then, in the Control tab, reboot the player.

  3. Publish a presentation using Standalone or LFN (Local File Networking), and select the extension as an OS update in the Publish tab. The player will automatically reboot.

2) Using The Remote Diagnostic Web Server (RDWS)

1. Access the RDWS by going to the Network tab and clicking on the gear icon next to the player.

2. Click on the Advanced tab.

3. In BrightSignOS Update > Update Options, select the Custom URL option and paste the SignMetrix Extension link, and click Update. This will update the OS on the player. As part of this process, the player will reboot.
